3-point bending test
Using the Instron tensile testing machine 68TM-50kN, we can perform a 3-point bending test (flexural). In the 3-point bending test, a test specimen is placed on two supports. Subsequently, the specimen is bent at a certain speed. The force required for this is plotted against the deflection. Based on these data, the flexural stiffness and strength can be determined. This information can be used, among other things, to assess whether the material meets specifications and for which applications the material can be used.
The test is conducted according to the ISO 178 standard.
